Electrical Project Manager Assistant – Opportunity Available

Currently available is an opportunity to join a Electrical & Mechanical and Building contractor working at Gatwick Airport to develop our Building works. Dyer & Butler Electrical was established by an electrical team with extensive knowledge and experience of the UK Airport sector.

The role is key to the delivery of projects associated with our 5 year Building Framework with Gatwick Airport. This an exciting time for our organisation and we would like a key individual to join our project delivery team.

As the Project Manager Assistant you will assist the project managers deliver works either from tender or post tender stage to hand over stage. Projects valuation would be up to £1,500k and vary in duration.

Our company ethos is to provide the right management team with the correct skill base and experience to deliver projects with minimal fuss and a non-confrontational approach. Consequently we have developed successful long standing relationships with our client.

Our operational head office is based at Manor Royal Estate near Gatwick Airport with a team presence at Heathrow Airport as well. While our project works are predominately at these airports, we have delivered UK and international projects.

Overview / Responsibilities:

The Project Manager’s Assistant is responsible for the following tasks,

  1. Assist the Project Manager in the delivery of key projects.
  2. Manage Maximo jobs
  3. Assist in delivery of operational activities in compliance with internal procedure and external legislation governing business operations
  4. Develop and maintaining positive relationships with our clients, supply chain and internal team.
  5. Attend meetings; including progress, pre-construction, pre-award and handover meetings
  6. Prepare and submit site permitary prior to starting works as required for an airport / safety critical environment.
  7. Maintain records utilisting company’s documentation management system, workspace.
  8. Provide logistical support across the individual work locations through the management of project procurement needs in conjunction with the Project Manager.
  9. Control Project functions and operations through use of IT based systems
  10. Manage weekly timesheets for site operatives.
  11. Maintain project and QSHE files.
  12. Create method statements and risk assessments for project activities.
  13. Collate and review daily, weekly and monthly management and client reporting requirements
  14. Assist with the preparation and coordination of handover documentation.
  15. Collate the project manager’s time allowance from the project cost plans.
  16. Develop and promote good lines of communication with the site based team, clients, suppliers and subcontractors and the wider Dyer & Butler Electrical Team
  17. Positively promote Dyer & Butler Electrical’s procedure and good working practices
  18. Perform other ad hoc requests as required by your manager and other members of the management teams

Requirements:

  1. Willingness & motivation to learn
  2. Enthusiasm to develop understanding of Electrical works, particularly in an Airport/Aviation environment.
  3. IT skills including Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint
  4. Knowledge of Maximo an advantage
  5. Functions effectively as part of a team
  6. Ability to develop or maintain relationships
  7. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
  8. Dependability
  9. Time management and organizational skills
